Terrible! They put Canadian bacon on my food and I asked for no meat. Then the cooks slid the meat off and gave me the same plate back. The server brought me a wrong order twice! Disgusted! I could see the pink on the English muffin left from the grease of the Canadian bacon. Rude! Meat grease will make me seriously ill. Went home hungry and not happy. The first time I can see was a mistake but the second time was a complete disregard for my health.

Really good breakfast place. Very reasonable prices and good service. Seems like where the locals go.

Wow what a great find. We went for an early Sunday morning breakfast. The place was very crowded. This didn't stop the service from being wonderful. The wait staff work together. So no waiting for coffee, extra napkins, etc. they even gave us wipes. We had a baby with us. So courteous. They kept the dishes away from him. No waiting for anything. Baby or no baby, it's nice to get my coffee refilled without waiting. Food was delicious. The portions were large. The prices were inexpensive. We definitely will return

This place is solid but very average but I would choose it again over a chain any day. Food was good and quick but like some comments say it was nothing special. The interior is lacking charm for a local place which seems hard.

Best breakfast in town. Shhhhh, I don't want a Silver Beach Pizza line for a Saint Joe gem.

Excellent breakfast spot! Veggie omelet was delicious and the pancakes are huge and super fluffy. They were busy, but service was fast and friendly. We'll be back.

I will rate this place 5 stars. If uncertain what to get, GET THEIR PANCAKES!!!! I am not a pancake fanatic, but what I ordered had pancakes included. I have NEVER tasted such greatness. It almost tastes like a cake. And they are HUGE. Bigger than my head!!! I was already full, but kept trying to eat more because they're JUST THAT GOOD. They are busy busy busy. We came on a Wed. AM, can't imagine how busy they are on a weekend morn!

We wanted breakfast and this was the only breakfast place we could find around St. Joseph's downtown area. It is small and simple...and even the menu is simple which I liked. Good: GIANT pancakes....I mean GIANT, healthy options, cute quiet place, great toast, pretty good scramblers, good coffee, and the only breakfast diner around the area Ehhh: Service (slow), no skillets on the menu, way to salty bacon, & some tables are too close. We were hungry and we ate....but besides the giant pancakes nothing was spectacular. Pretty basic breakfast place :-)

Great breakfast!! Their omelets are great as well as their breakfast potatoes. Food is consistently 4 star. Wait staff is very attentive also.

Great diner-type food, excellent breakfast and lunch. I love the wild mushroom asiago omelette, the breakfast baskets, soups and the turkey club sandwich. If they are slow ask them to "deep fry" the hash browns. They become wonderful crispy shoestring fries and are a great treat.

As a picky eater it's hard for me to find a place I love! Really great atmosphere and outstanding food! Forest scramble is delicious!

If you are staying in St. Joseph and looking for a breakfast spot...come here! It was around 11ish and we were obviously having a late breakfast... Someone had recommended this place but said there was usually a long wait. However, at the time we went there was not wait and we were seated immediately. It is indeed quite a small but spacious diner. This is exactly what I was in the mood for. We had our typical eggs, sausage and toast type of breakfast and it was perfect. The customer service was just as great. Highly recommend! oh yea... talk about reasonable prices!

We missed the free continental breakfast at the Boulevard one day and the front desk recommended we check out Thornton's for all day breakfast. It worked out great! Really affordable, large portions and great service. Everyone here was so nice. It's a good little cozy diner serving breakfast staples. My scrambled eggs were a little over done but no other complaints ... especially at $18 for breakfast for 2.

My family goes out for breakfast at least once or twice a week. Not too many offerings in St Joe, and Dino's closing really cut down the choices. We just recently discovered Thornton's and are glad we did. Sure, we have to wait for a table sometimes. It is not a big place, and like I said, there is not an abundance of choices in town. The wait is generally short, though, and worth it. The people working there are friendly. The food is pretty good, and the portions are more than fair. We will keep going as long as they can keep squeezing us in!

There aren't many breakfast restaurants in Southwestern, MI and I try to make a point of supporting local businesses. That being said, I'd rather drive into Three Oaks to Viola's than into St. Joe for Thornton's. Thornton's is a quaint little place in downtown St. Joe. The staff was friendly, but the food just didn't hit the spot for me. I ordered a ham & cheese omelet with hash browns and an English muffin. The omelet was so so. It was really thin, had very little cheese and a ton of ham. I would have been okay with the omelet if the hash browns had been better, but they tasted more like oil than potatoes. They were soggy and so oily you could use a napkin to dry them off. The meal just didn't cut it for me. I was with my boyfriend and his family. They seemed to like their meals more than I did, but weren't overjoyed with them. I don't think we'll be in a hurry to go back to Thornton's.

It's a diner in a tourist area but it doesn't have the tourist rates. In fact our jaws dropped at low the prices were. We came in here for a wedding day brunch, something to get food in our stomachs before our friend got hitched and we came in hoping for good food. We were not disappointed! Try the omlets or the burritos, we almost ordered again it was all so good!

Had lunch at thorntons today and found it to be a great place to eat. The sandwiches were plentiful and more than we could eat. Great "hometown" place and would go back again whenever we are in st. Joe. Service was a little slow but the food was great!

Great place for breakfast for under $10. The omelette's are gigantic, so we ordered the "smaller" size which was perfect. They had a great variety of breakfast stuff. I had the Spinach and Feta omelet and my GF had the grilled cheese with veggies and we were both happy, full, and pleased with the freshly prepared comfort food. The perfect diner just a few blocks from the cute little shops of St. Joe.

Thornton's is a regular weekly stop. Everything my wife and I have had has been well prepared. The main highlights for me are properly prepared eggs to order and the BEST homefries I have ever had. They are prepared with rosemary and the taste and aroma just explodes when they are ordered extra crispy.

This is one of my favorite breakfast spots in town. Fast friendly servers, and good food..... best cinnamon rolls ever!
